The sale of Swiss electrical and telecommunications contractor Burkhalter Group by Zelleger Luwa was one of the biggest management buyouts in 1997, costing 51 million pounds sterling. The buyout was led by Canto Consulting and LGV-Candover. Canto Consulting has a thorough understanding of Swiss business culture and is responsible for the merchant banking activities of 23 Swiss cantonal banks. Burkhalter reached sales of 89.2 million pounds sterling in 1996 from sales of 20.7 million pounds sterling in 1986, when Zelleger Luwa purchased the company.
