Cook Islands to get Canadian expertise

The government of Cooks Islands has awarded a 15-year management contract to YVR Airport Services Ltd, a subsidiary of Vancouver International Airport, to manage and develop the islands' Raratonga and Aitutaki airports. The contract also specificically requires YVR to build a new terminal building at Raratonga and implement a commercial strategy to make the two airports self-sufficient. The goverment's move commissioning the services of YVR is prompted by the islands' growing popularity because of tourism.

Bovis procures Barcelona contract
Article Abstract:
Bovis Lend Lease and its joint venture partners, Eurostudios SA and Inocsa Inginiera SSl, have been awarded a four-year management contract for the $1.2-billion expansion of the Barcelona International Airport. Under the terms of the contract, Bovis and its partners are to assist Spain's airport and air traffic agency, AENA, in the construction of the Midfield Terminal, which includes a 2,800-meter runway, a high-speed rail link to the main Barcelona-Madrid line, and new cargo and parking areas.
