It is interesting to watch other people's reactions to museums, according to May Cassar, environmental adviser at the UK's Museums and Galleries Commission. Her studies, including working as a research fellow at the International Centre for the Study of the Restoration and Preservation of Cultural Property in Rome, Italy, prompted an interest in preventive conservation. She uses her wide range of knowledge to ensure that museums use appropriate cleaning materials, and is keen to ensure that the needs of objects are balanced with those of people.

Schlaich reveals sunny outlook at Lubetkin lecture

Article Abstract:

Solar powered electricity stations could be built in hot climates using an array of glass panels which convert cool air into hot air, which in turn drives a turbine located in a central chimney, according to engineer Jorg Schlaich. The station could produce up to 200 megawatts of power, with Schlaich having worked on the system since 1978. Schlaich is best known for his work on bridge construction and buildings which make innovative use of local materials and construction techniques.

Lighting company Equation Lighting Design is a small organization with two directors and eight employees. Following a managerial crisis, the company called in organizational psychologist and psychotherapist John Bristow to help the two directors enhance their professional relationship. Bristow was able to help them resolve their differences and redefine their roles through a series of regular counselling sessions.
