Article Abstract:
IMS, the Internet subsidiary of Hong Kong Telecommunications, provide people a glimpse of tomorrow's information superhighways with its newly-launched video-on-demand services. The firm recently offered the services via a highly-complex fiber-optic computer network, dubbed as broadband, due to its capability to expedite data transfer than most Internet connections today. IMS' video-on-demand services, which enables residents to select a movie from an on-line menu and view it at any time, also offers a valuable insight to other companies on how the services are accepted in Hong Kong and Singapore.
