Coping with the pain of betrayal
Article Abstract:
Women who have experienced betrayal may be tempted to take revenge or carry the hurt by refusing to forgive or forget the wrong done them. The pain can be alleviated by sharing it, thereby developing close bonds and greater trust with others. Five women tell how they rebounded from betrayal.

The best way to handle put-downs or caustic remarks is to ignore them. If it is done repeatedly, however, experts advise the aggrieved party to tell the other person firmly not to utter such hurtful remarks again.
