Cornelio Sommaruga: keeping the Red Cross flying

International Committee of the Red Cross Pres Cornelio Sommaruga traces his interest in international affairs to the day his father was called upon to join the Swiss Legation in Rome after World War II. He declared that his negotiating experience prepared him for his post as the head of the oldest humanitarian institution in the world. He also confirmed that the delegates forming the organization will continue to be 25 Swiss citizens despite the fact that other societies such as the National Red Cross or Red Crescent Societies are lending him people.
