Cougar refuels in flight
Article Abstract:
The French government has reported positive results in tests involving a European Cougar Mk2 in combat SAR configuration. The aircraft, which was on loan from the Saudi Air Force and was manned by a French crew, successfully refuelled from a KC 130 Hercules plane. The tests defined the refuelling envelope and the pilot's reference points within it. It also confirmed the helicopter's mechanical ability to complete the operation without restrictions and verified the operation of the fuel system and its safety systems.
