Countryside reactionaries play into the hands of the housing problem
Article Abstract:
England's leading countryside reactionaries are facing housing problem as the thought of system building in the countryside had the aesthetes reaching for their "eyesores", "inappropriates", "appallings" and "disgracefuls" with gusto. It is observed that in reality the UK is a post-modern house-price economy with social health, education and heritage appendices- logically.

Martin Pawley: Crow's call ends all reasonable debate on future housing needs
Article Abstract:
There will be 1.1 mil new dwellings needed in southeast England by 2016, according to a forecast by Professor Peter Crow in 1999. The total would include 550,000 dwellings on greenfield sites and 550,000 dwellings on brownfield sites in London. Whether housing should be focused on at the expense of rural activities in southeast England is discussed.

Article Abstract:
An argument that the boom of constructing houses in Great Britain is over and that future trends indicate that more and more people will opt for renting homes is presented. It is felt that the high rents prevailing in Britain for housing will not last, as investment in housing is not popular in the rest of Europe.
