Cow crunching
Article Abstract:
Researcher Roy Anderson estimates that about 446,000 cows were infected with mad cow disease in 1988, the peak period of the epidemic. He also estimates that little more than 12 cows were infected in 1995, after the UK government took steps to halt the epidemic.
