Work on the Leicester Theater scheme designed by Uruguayan architect Rafael Vinoly is due to start in April 2005, and the controversial Colchester Visual Arts Facility is set to go in for planning permission at the end of January 2005. The prolific New York-based architect discusses his work in America and Europe, and the way he handles the criticism that sometimes goes with it.

New urban behavior
Article Abstract:
The Urban designers built environments in such a way as to modify people's behavior. One such type includes the 'design out crime' which makes it difficult for the would-be criminals to gain access to residential areas or to operate unobserved, and especially by eliminating the dangerously dark and secluded alleys and underpasses that might provide cover for violent criminals.

An architect and an education expert from Derbyshire County Council have created a colorful education set for primary school children to enable them to enjoy the study of urban constructions. However, the question arises whether the inclusion of moral values in an otherwise commendable activity will spoil this exciting experience.
