DENMARK: ETHICS AND E-COMMERCE
Article Abstract:
Danish internet retailer Gubi.com teams up with the Save the Children Fund in order to increase confidence in e-trade. For each sale made over the Internet, Gubi will give 10 Dkr (US$ 1.40) to the Fund. According to Gubi's MD, Jacob Gubi, the idea stems from the fact that many experts argue that the Internet will make the industrialized world richer and the third world poorer. Gubi believes all internet companies should pay a small contribution to education of third world children.

DENMARK: RETAIL CHAIN TO START RESTAURANTS
Article Abstract:
Irma, the Danish grocery retail chain, is to start restaurants in three Irma stores. The restaurants will also offer take-away food. If this proves successful Irma is planning to open a chain of restaurants in Copenhagen, according to managing director Alfred Josefsen. He says there is room for many more restaurants of this type as eating out is a trend on the rise whereas grocery sales are stagnant.
