DENMARK: IT EXPORTS BY RAIL ADMINISTRATION
Article Abstract:
Banestyrelsen, the Danish Rail Administration, co-operates with the Danish consultancy firm Cowi about exports of IT systems to rail administrations in Europe. The system controls the standard of railway tracks through a so-called Geographical Information System (GIS), and thus provides information about wear and tear before tracks are worn down. Recently, a contract was awarded in Norway.

DENMARK:ORESUNDSBRON SAKNAR FORMELLT GODKANNANDE
Article Abstract:

Article Abstract:
A white paper by the Danish Academy for Technical Sciences states that the Danish infrastructure is falling into decay. The annual maintenance of roads and the sewage system requires more funds than the DKr13bn earmarked for the purpose. The DKr13bn account for 1.2% of the gross national product at factor cost. Roads, sewers, railroads and power stations were included in the white paper whereas telecommunications, airports and the natural gas network were excluded from it. The white paper was compiled by outstanding experts in respective fields.
