DENMARK: INTERIM RESULTS FOR DFDS
Article Abstract:
DFDS, the shipping company, reports a drop in turnover to DKr1.9bn for the first half of 2001 from DKr2bn in the same period last year. Operating profit in the period was DKr84mn vs. DKr20mn in 2000. Loss after net financial items was DKr2mn vs. a loss of DKr62mn in the same period last year. The company has given up its target of achieving a pre-tax profit of DKr175mn for the whole of 2001 and has revised this target to DKr150mn. DFDS blames the foot and mouth disease and losses of two of its most important cargo routes for the impaired prospects for the rest of the year.
