DENMARK: FIRST HALF 2001 RESULTS BY FLS

FLS Industries of Denmark shows a loss of DKr62mn (US$7.2mn) before tax in the first half of 2001 vs. a DKr1.1bn profit in the same period last year. Despite this, the company stands by its forecast of an operating profit of DKr700mn for the whole of 2001 as it reports a good order inflow. According to FLS Industries CEO Peter Assam, the company puts greater focus on profitability, concentrates more on core operations and on greater transparency within the group.

DENMARK: AEROSPACE TO BE SOLD?

Danish FLS tones down rumours, according to which part of FLS Aerospace is about to be sold to United Technologies Corp. These rumours were voiced in the Irish Times, that claimed that the deal could be completed in the course of a couple of days. Peter Kruse, head of FLS's investor relations unit, says the company has a choice of either keep the unit or to sell it as the group is in the process of turning around operations.

Denmark: Danish Aerotech wins helicopter parts contract
Article Abstract:
Danish Aerotech A/S has been awarded a DKr250mn(US$30.1mn) contract for the supply of parts to the 14 new helicopters in which the Danish defence will invest DKr3bn. The company will supply control panels to the cockpit among other things.
