DENMARK: INTERNET BANKS HAVE MAJOR POTENTIAL
Article Abstract:
Internet banks have major potential, according to the analysis institute Instant Answer that has carried out a survey among around 2,500 Internet users over the age of 15. The survey shows that more than half of the interviewees were prepared to do without their physical bank. An equally number were prepared to join a pure Internet bank. Bank manager Henrik Vad in the Internet bank Din Bank says many bank clients are no longer loyal to the traditional banks due to the many mergers in the business. According to the survey, about half of bank clients today visit their physical bank only once a quarter or even more seldom. Bank manager Peter Schutze of Unibank still believes that clients wish to be able to choose between visiting a bank of making use of the Internet service.

DENMARK: NET BANKS HAVE POOR SERVICE
Article Abstract:
Traditional banks with net banking services have a lot to learn. Araneum, an IT consultancy company, has analysed the e-banking web pages of Denmark's 31 largest banks and found that service is generally inadequate. The e-banking services do not differ much from traditional banking services and several banks have raised their e-banking fees, thereby diminishing the advantage of using net banks. Only every third net bank provides staff assistance.
