DENMARK: MINISTER GIVES UP BAN ON RESIDUES
Article Abstract:
The Danish Minister of Foods, Henrik Dam Kristensen, has given up Denmark's ban on medicine residues in pork and other foods. Denmark will introduce the EU regulation about limits for 600 pharmaceuticals in domestic animals. Several parties in Folketinget, the Danish Parliament, are critical against the Minister's decision, not least as the European Commission has not commented Denmark's announcement in 1995 that medicine residues will continue being banned.
