Denmark: Wind power industry to reach DKr20bn turnover
Article Abstract:
The Danish wind turbine industry is forecast to reach a combined turnover of more than DKr20bn (US$2.4bn) this year vs. DKr13bn in 2000, according to the Danish Wind Turbine Manufacturers' Association. The figure includes turnover generated by Danish sub-contractors to wind turbine producers abroad. The two listed Danish producers Vestas and NEG Micon together expect to reach a turnover of about DKr15.5bn this year. The wind turbine industry in Denmark employs currently 4,300 persons vs. 3,800 in 2,000.

DENMARK: WIND-POWER STATION SALES AT A STANDSTILL

The sales of wind turbines in Denmark have been at a standstill over the past eighteen months due to uncertainty about the profitability of wind-power generated electricity and the situation is not expected to improve for many years unless politicians take the appropriate measures. Karl Gustav Nielsen, chairman of the Danish Wind Turbine Manufacturers' Association, says it is very bad publicity that the situation on the domestic market of wind turbine manufacturers is so insufficient.

Denmark: DONG participates in wind power deal
Article Abstract:
Energi E2, DONG and Swedish Sydkraft have signed a joint venture deal, which makes them responsible for the operation of the gigantic offshore wind-power park by Nysted/Rodsand to the south of Lolland. Energi E2, that becomes operator, will get a 50% share of the company, DONG a 30% stake and Sydkraft 20%. The wind power station park, that will be taken into operation in 2003, will consist of between 64 and 96 units and have a capacity of 150MW.
