DENMARK: NURSERIES SIGN EXCLUSIVE GAS DEAL

The Danish Association of Horticultural Producers and the Association of Danish Power/Heating Plants have signed an agreement with DONG regarding a special natural gas rate, which makes it possible for Danish nurseries to buy natural gas at the same favourable rate as their Dutch rivals. This will prevent an economic downturn in the Danish nursery business.

DENMARK: OIL AND GAS PRODUCTION ON RECORD LEVEL
Article Abstract:
According to a report from the Danish energy agency (Energistyrelsen), oil and gas production reached record levels in 1999. Oil production increased by 26 percent compared to 1998. Total oil production during the year was 17,36 million cubic metres. Gas production increased by 6 percent. The energy agency expects the increase to continue.

DENMARK: DONG TO BID FOR NORWEGIAN OIL LICENSES

Dansk Olie og Naturgas (DONG) has placed bids for a number of licenses in the Norwegian part of the North Sea that the state-owned Norwegian oil authority SDOE has put for sale. This is part of the company's efforts to consolidate its position as a regular oil company.
