DENMARK: OFFICE PROJECT IN COPENHAGEN

A joint venture between the two Danish real estate companies Ejendomsselskabet St Frederikslund and Sjaelso Gruppen has acquired building rights to 37,000 sq. metres at Havnestaden, Islands Brygge, in a former harbour area of Copenhagen. The plan is to invest DKr 740mn (USD 95mn) in a new office building. Construction works will begin in 2001.

DENMARK: MOTOROLA'S PROPERTY SOLD

Danish Sjaelso Gruppen has sold a 9.000 square meter property, which is now being built in Glostrup in Denmark for DKr155mn (US$18.2mn). The buyer is Danish insurance company AP Pension. The property is to be rented by Motorola.

Office rents in the inner city of Copenhagen have increased to DKr 2,000 (USD 265) per sq. metres from DKr 1,800 a few months ago. A further 30-40% increase is expected, according to assistant director Peter Rebsdorf, Nybolig.
