DENMARK: ORANGE EXECUTIVE ON DANISH UMTS LICENSES
Article Abstract:
Michael Latimer, member of the Orange board of directors, says it is OK for countries like Denmark to charge for UMTS licenses as the licenses represent a major value for the holders. According to him, the prices charged for the European UMTS licenses are very cheap by global comparison. Latimer also says that Orange is set to continue investments in Denmark and expects Denmark to become one of the leading countries in the mobile development.

DENMARK:MORE DANES USE TELE DANMARK'S SMS SERVICE
Article Abstract:
Tele Danmark's clients received and sent 47 million SMS messages via their mobile phones. This is an increase of 240 per cent on the same period last year. This increase is ascribed to the new services whereby it is possible to receive business, sports and share price information via mobile phones. Another reason for the growth is that the WAP technology has not yet gained foothold in Denmark.
