DENMARK: SCA PACKAGING TO CLOSE DOWN BRONDBY PLANT

SCA Packaging Denmark is to close down its plant in Brondby and relocate production to SCA's other plants with the greater part of the production being taken over by the plant in Taulov. The 145-strong staff at Brondby will be made redundant as a result of this. SCA will also make a further investment of DKr22mn in Taulov.

DENMARK: GN RESOUND TO MOVE PRODUCTION ABROAD

GN ReSound, the Danish producer of hearing aids, will move part of its production from Denmark to its plant in Cork, Ireland, and Xiamen, China. 50 employees at its plant at Praesto, Denmark, will be made redundant. In future, the Danish plant will concentrate on the production of advanced components.

DENMARK: B&O MEDICOM TO BUILD NEW PLANT

Bang & Olufsen Medicom (B&O Medicom), the Danish producer of medical equipment, has started the construction of a new plant at Struer, Denmark. The plant will total 8,500 sq. metres, and is planned to be taken into operation in the beginning of 2001.
