DENMARK: TEN NEW HOTELS PLANNED

In all ten new hotels are projected in Copenhagen. The plans are more or less definite; out of the projected 3,000 hotel rooms, the congress market includes 1,100 in its long-term plan. From the summer of 1999 until the summer of 2001, 1,500 new luxury hotel rooms will be established. First Hotel, including 400 rooms, opened past summer; Hilton will open its 375-room hotel at Copenhagen Airport in March 2001; Copenhagen Merriot is being renovated and will open 400 rooms in 2001; Copenhagen Strand, totaling 174 rooms, will open in 2000.

DENMARK: HOUSING PROJECT IN COPENHAGEN

The Danish real estate company Harald Simonsen Ejendomskontor is to carry out a housing project at the so-called "Cryolite Ground", between Strandboulevarden and Ostbanegade, Copenhagen. DKr 300mn (USD 40mn) will be invested in 208 apartments totaling 22,000 sq. metres. Hojgaard & Schultz has been awarded the construction contract.
