DENMARK: WITTENBORG TO CLOSE DOWN PLANTS

Wittenborg, the Danish producer of vending machines, is considering concentrating production to one-two plants. At present, there are four plants; one of which is situated in Odense, Denmark, and the others in Germany, Switzerland and the UK respectively. Jan Berg, head of Wittenborg and MD of the parent company Incentive, says Wittenborg's operating margin has to be improved to at least 10%; at present, it is about 5%.

DENMARK: DANISH DRY SOLD TO DLG AND US FIRM

East Asian Company (OK) sells Danish Freeze Dry to DLG and its American partner, Oregon Freeze Dry. Oregon has cooperated with OK since 1998. DLG and Oregon will own 50 percent each of the company. Danish Dry has a DKr 80 million (US$ 10 mn) annual turnover.
