DENMARK:CARLSBERG CRITICISED BY PENSION FUND

ATP, the leading pension fund in Denmark, has leveled harsh criticism of Carlsberg and its lack of future visions for the newly-established Carlsberg Breweries, that is owned by Carlsberg A/S (60%) and Orkla of Norway (40%). Carlsberg's chairman of the board said in a short statement that the company is working on the matter and will make an announcement as soon as possible.

Carlsberg's Danish market share has sunk from 70 to 69%. Behind the fall lies the increase success of, so-called, cheap beer. Total Danish consumption and imports from Germany have increased. These imports now count for 20% of Danish consumption.
