Delay analysis for discrete-time queueing systems with multiple randomly interrupted servers
Article Abstract:
The packet delay in discrete-time multiserver queueing networks with an independent arrival process and uncorrelated server interruptions is investigated. Specifically, the probability generating function for deriving the first two moments of the delay is formulated based on the assumption that the number of available servers from slot to slot are i.i.d. A numerical example is also given to demonstrate its applicability to integrated voice-data systems, loop systems or network nodes.

Approximate analysis for queueing networks with finite capacity and customer loss
Article Abstract:
A two-parameter approximation procedure for evaluating general queueing networks with finite capacity is introduced. The approach, which analyzes the system throughput and mean waiting time, obtains the mean and squared coefficient of variation of the arrival process via linear or quadratic approximation prior to analyzing the nodes individually. Although designed for queueing networks with blocking, it may be implemented in non-Markovia networks.
