Denmark: Concrete panel maker forecasts competition
Article Abstract:
Competition in the market for precast concrete panels is set to tighten provided that the new cement tax proposed by the Danish government is passed, says MD Jakob Winther Knudsen of Tinglev Elementfabrik A/S. Competition is expected to put pressure on prices, he adds. Tinglev Elementfabrik A/S is the leading supplier of concrete panels on the Danish market. Two years ago it took a new factory near Berlin into operation. Tinglev is to start production at a new plant in Tinglev in February 2002, which is to produce concrete used for storey partition. Winther Knudsen says the company is planning expansion.

MD Jorgen Ajsjev believes the company is able to increase turnover of gas concrete by up to 400%. H+H Holding is now to invest DKr 300mn (USD 41mn) in its fourth plant in the UK.
