Denmark: Industrial turnover up

There was a 2.3% increase in industrial turnover in the second quarter of 2001 compared with the first quarter from DKr126bn to DKr129bn, according to Statistics Denmark. It is the transport sector and the mineral oil industry that accounted much of the increase i.e. 18.3% and 8% respectively.

According to statistics by Danmarks Statistik, industrial turnover in Denmark climbed 2.7% in Denmark in the fourth quarter to DKr127mn (US$15.5mn) compared with DKr124mn in the third quarter. The biggest increase was reported by the mineral oil industry i.e. 10.4%.

Industrial production in Denmark rose by 0.8% in the February-March 2001 period whereas the average industrial production within the EU reported a 0.1% drop. This emerges from Eurostat's latest overview of industrial production within the EU.
