Denmark: Orange shareholders in an arbitration deal
Article Abstract:
Wanadoo, the Internet company of France Telecom, will be involved in an arbitration settlement. It is requested to pay DKr750mn to minority shareholders in Orange. For the past six months Wanadoo has been trying to wriggle out of the deal it signed with minority shareholders to hive off Internet operations in the then Mobilix. Orange in Denmark is controlled by France Telecom through the international Oranges' shareholding of 54%. Banestyrelsen, the National Railway Agency, and the other minority shareholders want the French company to pay the prices. Banestyrelsen alone with a 14% stake in Orange will make a loss of more than DKr100mn if the deal is not completed.
