Denmark: Project with new building materials fails
Article Abstract:
The billion krone project to develop a new building material by the Danish company Biocore A/S has failed. It was four years ago that the pilot project was initiated to develop and produce a fibreboard that resembles chipboard but weighs less, provides insulation and is durable as a construction material. Biocore's production unit has now been taken over by Nykredit, but the external investors to the project decided to drop Biocore. Lars Schou, the inventor of the material, still holds the patent for the material, which means that it is still possible to re-start production at the production unit, which now belongs to Nykredit.
