Denmark: Shima Communication gets capital injection
Article Abstract:
Shima Communication, that produces mobile phones in Aalborg, will get a DKr25mn capital injection from FIH (Finansieringsinstituttet for Industri og Handvaerk = Finance for Danish Industry). FIH project manager Mads Heine says the company is not concerned about the general weakening of the market for mobile phones as the downturn for telecoms investments is expected to affect mainly the 3rd generation of mobile telephony business. Shima's main business is based on the GSM technology. Shima recently obtained the technical approval for its telephone platform and is now prepared to send its first mobile phones to China.
