Denmark: Subsidies to health insurance to be abolished
Article Abstract:
As part of the budget, the Danish Government has proposed that subsidies to corporate health insurance schemes should be abolished, and the system completely privatised. This means the Government cuts costs by DKr 180mn (USD 22mn) in 2002, and DKr 215mn in the following years. Finance Minister Pia Gjellerup says insurance schemes should not sort under the Government's activities.
