Denmark: The economy is weakening
Article Abstract:
The weakening trend in the international economy will cost the Danish companies DKr14bn(US$1.7bn) compared to the result that was prognosticated in August 2001. This will also lead to the unemployment increasing by 20 000, according to figures by Danske Bank. The economic growth both for the US and Europe has been depreciated as a result of the events in the US on Sept 11, and the growth is now estimated at 0.7% for the US and 1.3% for the EU. The Danish economy is however rated higher than the EU average. The positive indicators for the future is the growth in production and the falling oil prices.
