Determination of paths to vendor market efficiency using parallel coordinates representation: a negotiation tool for buyers
Article Abstract:
A novel approach has been developed for measuring vendor performance and efficiency. The approach uses parallel coordinates and data envelopment analysis to determine and illustrate the efficiency on multiple criteria for vendors and identify the benchmark values on these criteria for negotiating with inefficient vendors. The applicability of the proposed approach is illustrated by evaluating the negotiations between a firm and its supplier operating in a just-in-time inventory system.
