Developing a framework for the study of the internationalisation of retailing
Article Abstract:
Internationalization will become a major subject in international retailing research as the year 2000 approaches. This topic requires more attention to the synergy between organizational internationalization and the internationalization of retail structures and market. A framework should thus be built in which related issues can be grouped and analyzed.

Major retailers will have to develop international strategies to avoid being restricted to their domestic markets. International markets offer vast growth opportunities and also the chance to boost experience through information gathering. Unfortunately, a large part of the internationalization process is still not sufficiently understood.
