Fund raising in the north west
Article Abstract:
The north west of England saw more than 40 management buyouts in 1994, in addition to 9 flotations which raised more than 200 million pounds sterling. The Alternative Investment Market (AIM) is scheduled to open in June 1995 and is geared to young companies which lack long trading records. Venture Capital Trusts (VCTs) will allow relief on capital gains tax and are also available from 1995. No regional VCT has yet been announced, but some are likely to have a regional bias.
