TBWA Toronto chapter won the contract for Certified Management Accountants of Canada. In developing their marketing strategies, the advertising company gave much leeway to the accountants to incorporate their ideas into the advertising campaign. Emphasis on the importance of certified management accountants on the operations of businesses, as well as details of the marketing conventions, are discussed.

Retail company Sears has hired Pamela Griffith-Jones as its new chief marketing officer and changed advertising agencies from BBDO to TBWA. The decisions were made in an attempt to rebuild its brand and to return to its softer focus. The difficulty of rebuilding the Sears brand is evaluated.
