Dissident politics on the net
Article Abstract:
The Internet is a useful tool for dissidents in South-East Asia, as is show by examples from Malaysia, Indonesia and Myanmar. Supporters of Anwar Ibrahim, Malaysian dissident, have their web sites which have been coordinated. Indonesian student protesters were able to communicate by e-mail, and overseas Chinese rallied support for the Chinese in Indonesia through the Internet. The US government imposed sanctions on Mynamar after a campaign that was helped by usage of the Internet.

Silicon Valley's new Sugar Daddies

Large Silicon Valley firms are injecting capital into small businesses that will eventually increase demand for their products. Intel, Microsoft, and Cisco Systems are three such firms investing that directly or indirectly supported their businesses.
