Australian universities offer higher-education opportunities to the international students. However, a spate of recent incidents involving allegations of plagiarism and the like leveled against their international students is likely to damage the offshore education industry of the country. It may be noted that the Australian universities rely heavily on the fee they get from their international students.

John Howard's victory in recent Australian elections will be beneficial to Asian countries. Howard will in all probability pursue trade relations with China and other Asian countries.
