Social justice and global trade
Article Abstract:
The pros and cons of trade liberalization are discussed from the perspectives of developed and developing nations. Industrialized nations have tariffs which are almost four times higher than the tariffs that developing countries have. This leaves the poorest countries in much worse condition that they were in the beginning. According to theory, however, trade liberalization was supposed to grow the country economically. In this context, the need to reform the WTO for fair and efficient global trade systems is also discussed.

Article Abstract:
The Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) has invited leaders from New Zealand and Australia to talk free trade after years of snubbing overtures from these countries. Analysts see this move to be in tune with times as the growing economic clout of Australia and to a lesser extent New Zealand means Asean countries could spruce up their technology to supply sophisticated equipments to the fast growing neighbors.
