Dusit Thani is hungry for more Asian properties
Article Abstract:
Dusit Thani PCL plans to continue with its international acquisitions strategy that has helped transform the company from a one-hotel firm in 1986 to a 17-hotel international entity. Analysts are cautious about Dusit Thani's ambitious expansion program, citing concerns about inadequate funds and poor management cohesion. Moreover, they warned that such an expansion plan may prove disastrous for Dusit Thani, especially in light of the poor financial performance of many of its local properties.

More and more hotels are offering fax machines, computers in rooms
Article Abstract:
Hotels in Asia such as the Kowloon Hotel and the Sheraton Penang Hotel have installed personalized electronic-mail addresses in each room. The rooms are also outfitted with personal computers and fax machines. The service benefits guests who do not have to pay long-distance charges when dialing their local server. The service is also expected to appeal to less computer literate guests who want to know more about information technology.
