EU-KOMMISSION VIL AF MED D SEFORBUD
Article Abstract:
The EU-commission maintain their packaging directive which means that Denmark must abolish their prohibition of aluminium cans. This is clear in a report where the Commission states that the prohibition discriminates import of beer and soft drinks as well as domestic competition. The Commission has no understanding for the numerous life-cycle analysis undertaken in Denmark and considers them irrelevant. Those analysis can not justify that some types of packaging are not allowed to be marketed in Denmark.

DENMARK: BEVERAGE CANS COMMON, DESPITE BAN
Article Abstract:
Even though the Danish Government fights against the introduction of beverage cans, they are becoming increasingly common in Danish stores. This is possible as the ban only includes carbonated beverages. This means a lot of canned juice, ice-tea etc. are being sold in Denmark. What is more, considerable quantities of canned beer and soft drinks are imported from Germany and Sweden for private consumption. By now, there is no system for recycling of cans in Denmark. This means the cans end up in refuse bins.

DENMARK: "THE CAN-BAN IS A FARCE"
Article Abstract:
According to Kim Behnke, chairman for finance and tax issues in Fremskridspartiet (the populist party), the Danish prohibition against beer and soft drinks in cans is developing into a farce. The criticism is founded on the fact that the ferry services between Denmark and Sweden, and airports have got an exemption from the law and are allowed to sell cans.
