EU MAY IMPOSE ANTI-SUBSIDY DUTY ON PFY

Article Abstract:

The European Commission (EU) is likely to impose anti-subsidy duty on imports of polyester filament yarn (PFY) from India. The companies which will be affected by this move are PFY producers like Reliance Industries, Indo-Rama Synthetics, Modern Industries, Parasrampuria and Sanghi Polyester. The EU has the initiated anti-subsidy measures as it has declared all export promotion schemes like duty entitlement pass book, 100 percent export-oriented units and export promotion zone, export promotion capital goods and benefits provided under section 80 HHC and 10 A and 10B of the Income Tax Act to be subsidies. INDIAN MUSHROOMS SLAPPED WITH US ANTI-DUMPING DUTY

Article Abstract:

The US International Trade Commission (USITC) has decided to impose anti-dumping duty on preserved mushrooms from India, China and Indonesia. USITC claims that the import of mushrooms has affected a US company. The Commerce Department found in December 1998 that dumpings from India had a margin of 6.28 percent to 243.87 percent. The US Customs service will impose duties on these products equal to the dumping margins. (rk)(vr)
