EU aims to calm U.S. arms fears
Article Abstract:
The European Union is all but certain to lift a 15-year-old arms embargo on China by the end of June 2005. European Union Officials are reassuring the United States that it is largely a symbolic act and that there will not be an increase in arms imports from the European Union to China. The United States is worried that European Union high-tech weapons sold to China could one day be used on American soldiers.
