This article discusses proposals of the European Commission regarding the marketing of drugs in the European Union. Officials are responding to the demands by groups representing patients with such diseases as AIDS diabetes and asthma that more consumer information be made available.

Sanofi weight-loss drug gains support in Europe
Article Abstract:
Rimonabant the anti-obesity drug by Sanofi-Aventis S.A. of France has been approved for market by European regulators. The drug is being marketed under the trade names Acomplia and Zimutti. The United States Food and Drug Administration has postponed an approval decision.
