EUROPE: REPORT REVEALS DIFFERENCES IN MORTGAGES
Article Abstract:
The 'Britain and Europe: A Homebuyer's View of Mortgages' report from Halifax has revealed marked differences between mortgages in the UK and Europe. Average mortgage rates vary from 6.9% in the UK to 5.5% in France, while loan-to-value ratios vary from 80% over 15 years in Spain, to 125% over 30 years in the Netherlands. The report does not anticipate a unified European mortgage market in the near term.
