Whirlwind honeymoon
Article Abstract:
South Korean Pres Kim Young Sam unexpectedly established himself as a political reformer and opponent of corruption in his first 100 days in office. Though elected as a moderate, Kim has alarmed the South Korean establishment through his anti-corruption campaign, his refusal to accept political contributions and actions against military interference in politics. Some critics cite his reluctance to endorse long-term reform as evidence that he is really only entrenching himself in power. Kim must act quickly to dispel this charge.
