Ericsson challenges rival with new hand-held PC

Telefon AB LM Ericsson has begun marketing its new cellular telephone line and a new hand-held computer. The introduction of the T-28 mobile phone and the MC218 hand-held computer signals the start of a new battle in the cellular phone market. The launch of the products follows Ericsson's sales decline in mobile phones behind Nokia Corp. The hand-held device will give users Internet access from wireless products.

Nikon slashes earnings forecast on tech slump
