Ernest-Antoine de Seilliere, boss of France's bosses
Article Abstract:
Ernest-Antoine de Seillere is the president of France's employers' confederation, or Medef. He called for a demonstration against a shorter working week in 1999, and Medef has voted against continuing with its roles as the social security program's joint manager, in Jan 2000. The labor unions are also involved in running theprogram. He argues that France has to respond to globalization, monetary union, and the internet, and this affects policies on issues such as stock options, and tax and pension reform.
