LME stumbles in silver futures, but it's a learning experience
Article Abstract:
London Metal Exchange (LME) executives have acknowledged that the exchange's silver futures contract, introduced in May 1999, has not gained widespread popularity. A major reason for that lack of acceptance, according to the exchange, has been the slow development of a global silver delivery network. LME Chairman Raj Bagri, in comments at the exchange's 1999 conference, discussed steps being taken to remedy that situation.
