Article Abstract:
European golfers have done fairly well in some US tournaments, but none has ever won the Professional Golfers Association Championship. This could be the year though, as the only other time a major championship was held at St. Louis' Bellerive Country Club was in 1965 when South African Gary Player won.

The success of Moody's and Standard & Poor's in the European credit rating market has prompted the UK-based rating firm IBCA to enter into merger negotiations with the French firm Euronotation. The merger effort is being hindered by French regulatory agencies.
